Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi has undergone a major change in the admission process. FMS, which used to host their own MBA entrance exam decided to discontinue with it and accept CAT scores for the admission process. Though the MBA aspirants were happy with the thought of getting rid of one of the toughest MBA entrance exams, but the question which they have now is, how will be the admission process conducted for the academic year 2012-14?
To help the Faculty of Management Studies aspirants, in today's article of the special series MBA Admissions 2012-14, we will talk about the admission process in detail.
Program & Seats
The flagship program offered by Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi is MBA (Full Time) the duration of which is two years. The number of seats offered in this program is 200.
Eligibility
Candidates applying for admission to the MBA full-time program should have a 3-year Bachelor's Degree. The minimum requisite percentage of marks in different disciplines is as follows:
Arts, Commerce or Social Sciences- 50 per cent
Sciences- 55 per cent
Mathematics or Statistics- 60 per cent
Medicine, Engineering or Technology- 60 per cent CGPA of at least 6 on a scale of 10
OR
Post Graduate Degree or Second Degree examination after 10+2+3scheme, securing at least 60 per cent marks.
Short listing criteria
The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT 2011 scores.
At least 50 percentile score in each section of the CAT-2011 is required by a candidate to qualify for being short-listed in GD or Interview, mentions Faculty of Management Studies (FMS). "The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total percentile rank and sectional percentile rank scores declared in the result of CAT 2011 test," added the B-School.
Selection process
The final selection of the students will be on the basis of the total percentile rank and sectional percentile rank scores declared in the result of CAT 2011 test and performance in GD and PI.
Fees
The annual fee payable to FMS, University of Delhi is Rs. 10,500 approximately. Hence, for two years the fee is around Rs. 21,000.
Important Dates
The tentative dates to host the GD PI process are March to April 2012. The academic session will be started from July 2012.
